#16 - The Orlando Magic are in the Playoffs!

Today is the first postseason game for the Orlando Magic in 7 years. It's amazing how far they've come to get to this point.

After Dwight Howard left the Magic in 2011, it felt like the team drove off a cliff. A team that had playoff aspirations for a few years suddenly became a go-to lottery team again. To make matters worse, the picks and players that we got always seemed to get traded away to teams that would turn them into star players in their own right. Decisions like these made me dislike the front office, why would you trade players that could develop here and thrive?

After 7 years of highs and lows (more lows than highs most of the time) things are starting to look up. The Magic acquired Terrence Ross from the Toronto Raptors, who are coincidentally the team we must beat in order to advance to the second round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. The Magic have been on a tear towards the end of the regular season, winning 11 out of their last 15 games. While it's hard for me to believe this team can make it to the NBA Finals this year, they can definitely give the Eastern Conference a run for their money. Their effort put forward this postseason will definitely be something to build upon going into the 2019-2020 NBA season.
